How can I place a free ad on the web site?

To place your ad for free, first you must become a member of the site. Click here to register today. Then just click the orange “place an ad” button at the top of all of our pages.

My online ads aren’t showing up or are marked as in-active. How can I activate them?

The posting process is a multi-step process and most likely you did not complete all of the steps. In order to activate an ad you did not complete:

1. Log into the web site
2. Click on “manage your ads” in the navigation bar
3. Click on the orange “manage” button next to the ad you need to finish
4. Go through the entire process again all the way until the end

What does the price of $0.00 mean?

The $0.00 price refers to the price of you online ad (free!!). Its not the price of the item you are trying to sell. Be sure all pricing information is in the description of your ad.

I don’t see any contact information for an item that I’m interested in. How can I contact the seller?

If the seller did not provide contact info in the description of their item, you can e-mail them securely via this web site. When you become a member and log-in, you’ll see a contact form underneath the ad that will allow you to send an e-mail to the seller.

How do I work the new print list?

In order to create a print list, you must become a member of the site. When you log-in, you’ll see a link on every ad that says “Add to my print list”. After you’ve added listings to your print list, you can view & print them by clicking on the “View my print list” link in the right sidebar under “Quick Links”. Listings will stay in your print list until you remove them or when they expire.

What’s the best way to find garage sale ads for a specific area?

Go to our advanced search page. Leave the keyword field blank, select ‘garage sales’ from the category list, and put in a zip code & radius. This will pull in all ads in a geographic area instead of a keyword search.

Deadline for advertising and payment is Friday 3:00 p.m for publication the following Wednesday. The free ad deadline is Thursday. You can send us your ad via this web site or call 1-800-524-5700.

What are the rules for free ads?

• Must be a household item or items.
• Total value of the items advertised must be $50 or less.
• If they are selling multiple items in the ad, it must include the number of items.
• Ad(s) are not for businesses.
• We do not accept paid or free ads for prescription items.
• All formulas, nutritional beverages, like Ensure^® are not accepted as free ads.
• Ads can not say "best offer", they must have a specific dollar($) value in ad.
